Change Management

What is change management?
Change management makes sense wherever what used to be tried and tested suddenly no longer proves its worth. This can be influenced by external factors (market, customer needs, competition, etc.) or initiated by internal decisions (strategy, goals, cost reduction, etc.). Old patterns have to be overcome and new things have to be understood, accepted and implemented. The changes can be very complex: Business models, staff, partners, processes, ways of working, portfolio, products, services, performance etc.
What does change management involve?
At the beginning, it is crucial to be aware of WHAT, WHY and HOW changes are to be made. The new should have recognisable advantages over the old to ensure the support of the “critical mass”. The need is driven by new internal or external tasks and challenges.
There are two success factors to consider:
- The change involves a profound emotional experience.
- The change is understood and can be comprehended.
What are the advantages of change management training?
After the training, managers can act as change agents or change managers:
- Create the conditions for change
- Understand, initiate and manage complex change processes
- Involve and lead the workforce
- Bring about changes in behaviour
- Remove barriers
- Create broad acceptance for improvements
